Email (SMTP)
The email integration configures SMTP for sending notifications and alerts from SonicSaaS.
What It Provides
- Operation notifications — receive emails when fleet operations complete or fail
- Alert notifications — get notified about security events, device status changes, and compliance issues
- Password reset emails — enables the password reset flow for user accounts
Setup
To configure email:
- Navigate to Integrations → Email
- Enter your SMTP server details (host, port, encryption method)
- Enter the sender email address and authentication credentials
- Send a test email to verify the configuration
- Save
SMTP credentials are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM.
Notification Types
Once email is configured, you can receive notifications for:
- Firmware updates — when scheduled updates complete or fail
- Backup operations — when fleet backups complete or encounter issues
- Device status changes — when devices become unreachable or recover
- Security alerts — authentication failures, unauthorized accounts detected
Notification preferences can be configured in Settings.
