Email (SMTP)

The email integration configures SMTP for sending notifications and alerts from SonicSaaS.

What It Provides

• Operation notifications — receive emails when fleet operations complete or fail
• Alert notifications — get notified about security events, device status changes, and compliance issues
• Password reset emails — enables the password reset flow for user accounts

Setup

To configure email:

1. Navigate to Integrations → Email
2. Enter your SMTP server details (host, port, encryption method)
3. Enter the sender email address and authentication credentials
4. Send a test email to verify the configuration
5. Save

SMTP credentials are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM.

Notification Types

Once email is configured, you can receive notifications for:

• Firmware updates — when scheduled updates complete or fail
• Backup operations — when fleet backups complete or encounter issues
• Device status changes — when devices become unreachable or recover
• Security alerts — authentication failures, unauthorized accounts detected

Notification preferences can be configured in Settings.
