FirmwareFirmware Audit

Firmware

The Firmware Audit page compares every device in your fleet against your defined firmware targets. It highlights which devices are current, which have updates available, and which are below minimum thresholds.

Managing Firmware Targets

Click Manage Targets to define minimum and target firmware versions per device model. This drives the compliance audit:

  • Minimum version — Devices below this version are flagged as Below Minimum (critical)
  • Target version — The preferred version for updates. Devices below this but above minimum show Update Available

Scheduling Updates

Click Update Settings to configure how firmware updates are rolled out:

  • Schedule windows — Define maintenance windows for firmware updates
  • Staged rollout — Update devices in batches to limit blast radius
  • Pre-update backup — Automatically back up device config before firmware update

MySonicWall Sync

Firmware availability data comes from the MySonicWall integration. When configured, SonicSaaS periodically syncs the latest available firmware versions for each device model so the audit table always reflects current options.
